Khumbu valley and to the Everest Base Camp is without a doubt the most popular and well-trodden trekking routes you might have ever set foot on. The entire Everest Base Camp trek is a sensational with iconic Himalayan snowy peaks. Adding a side trip to Gokyo Lakes (4790m) and crossing over Chola Pass (5420m) would be even more exciting and adventurous.

You begin your 15-Day Trek to Exciting Everest Base Camp and Gokyo Valley flying from Kathmandu to Lukla (Be prepared with unpredictable weather and serious flight delays or cancellation). You will have a spectacular scenery during the flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. Flight time about 35 minutes. You will land at one of the adventurous and thrilling airports in the world. If you do not want to take the Lukla flight, take an alternative routes to Mount Everest Base Camp either from Jiri or Salleri. Gokyo Lakes

Gokyo Lakes are a series of 6 stunning glacial lakes situated in the Sagarmatha National Park in Everest region. These lakes lie at the altitude between 4700m and 5000m above the sea level making them some of the world’s highest freshwater lakes. It is highly recommended to visit this Spectacular lakes during you Everest Base Camp trek. You can do this Gokyo Lakes trip as a side trip or extended trip of Mount Everest Base Camp Trek. The spectacular panoramic views over beautiful lakes with 8,000m plus peaks in the background can take your breath away!

On this trip, you will also climb to the Gokyo Ri (5360m) which is overlooking the small Gokyo valley village. The Gokyo Ri climb offers brilliant views of Mount Everest and Mt. Cho Oyo. Gokyo Ri Views are perfect and even better than Kala Patthar on a clear blue day.

There are small villages on every few hours of trekking and you can be flexible with your itinerary. However, we have carefully prepared the best itinerary that fits to every normal trekkers with proper acclimatization. The daily average walk on this 15-Day Trek to Exciting Everest Base Camp and Gokyo Valley is about 5-6 hours.

After you land in Lukla, you will gradually ascend through Khumbu valley crossing bridges and small Sherpa villages. Most of the days on this trek have gradual ascend. Total number of days for this 15-Day Trek to Everest Base Camp and Gokyo Valley is 15 days including two acclimatization days in Namche bazaar and Dingboche.

We have prepared this Everest Base Camp and Gokyo Valley Trek itinerary after the careful study. This itinerary is more practical and most of the trekkers wish to do first trek to Everest Base Camp then to Gokyo Lakes. We have already completed several trips following this itinerary and this is the most preferred ones.

ITINERARY
Day 01: Fly Kathmandu to Lukla (2840m) -35mins flight & trek to Phakding (2610m): 2-3 hours
Day 02: Trek Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440m): 6-7 hours
Day 03: Rest day in Namche Bazar for acclimatization – Hike up to the Everest Hotel (3800)
Day 04: Trek Namche to Tengboche (3860m): 5-6 hours
Day 05: Trek Tengboche to Dingboche (4410m): 5-6 hours
Day 06: Rest day at Dingboche – hike around for acclimatization (2-3 hours)
Day 07: Trek Dingboche to Lobuche (4910m): 5-6 hours
Day 08: Trek Lobuche to Gorakhshep (5160m) and hike Everest Base Cap (5364m): 8-9 hours
Day 09: Hike to Kalapatthar (5545m) and trek to Dzongla (4830): 6-7 hours
Day 10: Trek Dzongla to Thangnak (4700m) crossing over Chola Pass (5420m) 6-7 hours
Day 11: Trek Thangnak to Gokyo (4790m): 3-4 hours
Day 12: Hike Gokyo Ri (5360m) (5 hours round trip) and trek to Machhermo (4470m): 3 hours
Day 13: Trek Machhermo to Namche (3440m): 7-8 hours
Day 14: Trek Namche to Lukla (2840m): 6-7 hours
Day 15: Fly back to Kathmandu, trip ends.
