Here we present the Shortest, Quickest and Luxurious 9-Day EBC Shortest and Comfortable Heli Trek (Return by Helicopter) for those who don’t have plenty of time to do return trek back to Lukla. On this shortest Everest base Camp trek, you will trek up to the Everest Base Camp and Kalapatthar and return to Kathmandu by Helicopter (Chopper). If you are dreaming to accomplish the EBC Trek in the shortest time possible, we recommend you 9-Day EBC Shortest and Comfortable Heli Trek (Return by Helicopter). On the trek, you will take a regular flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2800m) and follow the same classic route up to the Everest Base Camp (5364m) and Kala Patthar (5545m) via Namche (3440m), Tengboche, (3860m), Dingboche (4410m), Lobuche (4910m) and Gorakhshep (5181m). You will explore the Everest Base Camp and hike to Kala Pathar and take a Heli ride to return to Kathmandu. It is wise taking about an hour comfortable chopper ride instead of backtracking to the same route to Lukla
This 9-Day EBC Shortest and Comfortable Heli Trek (Return by Helicopter) follows completely the same 12 Days Everest Base Camp Standard Trek itinerary up to the EBC and Kalapathar; therefore it does not affect acclimatization, safety and other cultural and natural aspect of this trek. You will still have two full days acclimatization in Namche Bazaar and Dingboche.

(On this EBC Shortest and Comfortable Heli Trek, 2 additional days in Kathmandu is excluded. If we add 2-3 days in Kathmandu, we recommend you allocate at least 11-12 days for this rewarding trip to Mount Everest Base Camp.
Drive to the Kathmandu Domestic airport early in the morning, our EBCTreks.Com team transfers you to the airport and assist you board on the flight to Lukla. (It is quite common that flight can be delayed due to unforeseen weather conditions, it is good to be per-prepared well for this). You will have a brilliant mountain views while flying to Lukla and it is suggested to request for the left seat for the great view. Our ground staff at the Lukla airport will wait for you and help you pack your bags and arrange porters. After having short rest, start your first day of trekking to Phakding along the river side. Start the second day trek early in the morning to take opportunity of perfect morning temperature, weather and view. You will get the first glimpse of awesome Mount Thamserku from the northern side across the hill and some spectacular views of landscapes. As you enter the Sagarmatha National Park, your permits and TIMS will be checked and you proceed ahead to the amazing trail to Namche Bazaar. First walk until the Dudh Kosi River is downhill. After crossing the Hillary Suspension bridge, you start the steep uphill trek until the Namche Bazaar. Overnight at Lodge.
This is the first acclimitization day of your 9 Days EBC Shortest and Comfortable Heli trek. It is better to be active rather than staying at the lodge or restaurant. Hike to the Everest view hotel and enjoy the fantastic Himalayan views. You shall hike for about 3-4 hours around and back to Namche. Overnight at Lodge.
Start you trek with amazing spectacular views of Mount Lhotse, Nuptse and Ama Dablam. You will pass through several tea shops and small villages. It is mostly gradual and downhill through rhododendron forest until the Phunki Thenka. After the Lunch at Phunki Thenka, we take the long climb up to Tengboche through pine trees and dusty trail.. Tengboche is home of ancient monastery, it is now renovated and views from Tengboche monastery is splendid. Overnight at Tengboche
The first part of the trek is little descent through the Himalayan Cherry and pine trees. After you cross the Imja River, you trek slightly uphill to Pangboche village. This is colder than the past days, take your down jacket and windproof jacket with you. You will get very cold wind after crossing the Somare. Be alert about the AMS and common sickness. After this place, it is likely to have some kind of common sickness – take proper precautionary methods. Overnight at Dingboche
Dingboche is the perfect altitude to have your second acclimatization. Stay active throughout the day with some hikes around. You can hike to Nangkartshang Peak (5083m) to the north Dingboche. Trekkers take their way from Dingbohe for Island Peak Climb and Chhukung Ri climb. Overnight at Lodge.
It is wise to start the trek early. As you trek further it is quite normal to have some lacking of energy, having minor headache, feeling nauseated sometimes. However, share with your guide or partner if you feel any of these symptoms. From Dugla, the trail begins steeply up toward the glacier moraine and after a few hours the trail finally heads to the small village of Lobuche. Overnight at lodge at Lobuche
It is wise to start your trek early in the morning to have your long walk to Gorekhsep. The trail starts with ascend to Lobuche Pass and gently walk through very rocky trail and arrive Gorekhsep in about 3-4 hours. Take rest and have Lunch. After some rest, take another walk to the awaited Everest Base Camp! From EBC, enjoy the Khumbu Glacier, view of Pumore, Nuptse and Khumbtse. You will still have wait for another day to have perfect views of Mount Everest from Kalapatthar. Trek back to Gorakhsep and stay overnight at lodge.
Very early in the morning before the sunrise, hike to Kalapatthar. It takes about 2-3 hours to reach Kalapatthar with very slow walk. Kalapatthar gives brilliant views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Pumori, Nuptse, Ama Dablam and the whole Mahalangur Himalayan range. You will take your return Heli ride exactly from Kalapatthar. While taking picture and enjoying the beautiful mountain, the chopper will pick you up and take you back to Kathmandu.
